Darryck Norris, 25, of Bridgeport, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possession of narcotics and other drug offenses following his arrest in February last year.
At approximately 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 27, 2016, first responders were dispatched to a Milford home, where they found an unresponsive 37-year-old man slumped over in the downstairs area of the home.
They initiated lifesaving measures and administrated two doses of Narcan, which had no effect. The overdose victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police would later seize four empty baggies and one full baggy of heroin. Each was stamped with the same brand.
Investigation into the fatal overdose found that Norris had been selling the victim heroin for several months. After conducting several controlled buys from him, law enforcement officials arrested Norris on Nov. 3, 2016, and he was subsequently released on $50,000 bond. He pleaded guilty to distributing heroin on May 17, 2017
On Feb. 16 last year, Norris was arrested by members of the Bridgeport Police Department.
