Alejandro “Macho” Velez, 37, stabbed to death Tinese Benson, the mother of a 9-year-old boy, on March 22, 2014, according to the report.

Velez’s lawyer said he has a history of mental illness and drug abuse, which lead to the fatal stabbing, according to Connecticut Post.
