The prison term for Jason "Boots" Prawl will be followed by five years of supervised release, said Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut.
On May 9, Prawl pleaded guilty to one count of sex trafficking of a minor. According to court documents and statements made in court, he recruited, harbored and transported two minor victims to engage in commercial acts of sex.

In the summer of 2015, he began promoting a 17-year-old female to engage in prostitution. Prawl arranged prostitution appointments for the victim that were priced at $60 for 10 minutes, $100 for 30 minutes, $150 to $200 for an hour, and $500 or more for longer than an hour. He kept all of the money that the victim earned.
Beginning in December 2015, a second 17-year-old victim began to see prostitution clients at Prawl’s residence. He used the website Backpage.com to advertise the minor victim’s services, and the victim saw four clients a day for 30 days. Prawl took $20 from each appointment, as well as money for gas and other expenses when he drove the minor victim to appointments away from his residence.
The investigation revealed that Prawl also attempted to recruit a third minor into prostitution.

Prawl also ordered to pay restitution of $10,080 to the first minor victim and $2,500 to the second minor victim.
He has been detained since his arrest on related state charges on March 9, 2016.
This matter was investigated by the Connecticut Human Trafficking Task Force, the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, Connecticut State Police, Bridgeport Police Department and Milford Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sarala V. Nagala and David E. Novick.
