Sean Northrop, 49, was arrested on Friday and charged with one count each of first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community and unemployment compensation fraud. He was arrested by the Unemployment Compensation Fraud Unit of the office of the Chief State's Attorney following a complaint by the Department of Labor, which administers the Unemployment Compensation program.

According to his arrest warrant, Northtrop under-reported his wages while working at the YWCA of Greenwich, allowing him to fraudulently collect $20,968 in unemployment benefits between May 2010 and June 2013.

Northtrop was released on a $10,000 bond and will appear in court May 11. If convicted he could face up to 25 years in prison.
