Bridgeport Fire Department's Safe Asleep Program Distributes Smoke Alarms

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Bridgeport Fire Department's 'Safe Asleep' Program will install free smoke detectors in the homes of city residents who need them.

The program is a partnership between the Bridgeport Fire Department and the Regional Youth Adult Social Action Partnership.

Bridgeport is the national leader with more than 35,000 smoke alarms installed in homes throughout the city since the program’s inception in 2005, city officials said.
