The Revolution scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning on first baseman Chad Tracy’s RBI single and left fielder Tim Battle’s three-run double. York held that 4-0 lead until the top of the fourth inning when Bridgeport scored three runs on first baseman Austin Gallagher’s RBI double, shortstop Juan Martinez’s RBI sacrifice fly and center fielder James Simmons’s RBI single. The ‘Fish tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning on a Martinez solo home run but York responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the seventh on second baseman Eric Patterson’s RBI single to give the Revolution a 5-4 lead.

York held that lead going into the top of the ninth inning but with one out, Martinez hit his second solo home run of the night to tie the score at 5-5. York didn’t score a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extra innings. After Bridgeport failed to score in the top of the tenth inning, York’s center fielder Sean Smith hit a one-out single in the bottom of the tenth inning and Battle drove him home on an RBI double off of Bridgeport reliever Jaye Chapman (2-2) to give the Revolution a 6-5 win.

York relief pitcher Beau Vaughan (7-3) earned the win after pitching a scoreless 10th inning. Alain Quijano started for the Revolution and gave up four runs off nine hits in six innings of work. Chapman picked up the loss in an inning and a third of relief work while Bridgeport starter Tomo Ohka allowed five runs off 11 hits in six and a third innings pitched.
