BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Can't hammer? Another way to help Habitat for Humanity Coastal Fairfield County build a kitchen for a needy family in Bridgeport is by making a donation on "Giving Day" Thursday, March 9.

Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County volunteers work on a project. Donations to the organization and others may be made on "Giving Day" Thursday at the Fairfield County Community's Foundation website.

The 24-hour fundraiser, which runs from midnight through 11:59 p.m. on March 9, allows donors to contribute to participating nonprofit organizations throughout the County on the Fairfield County Gives website, www.FCGives.org, hosted by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.

Habitat CFC has a Giving Day goal of $5,000 which is the cost to build a kitchen in one of their Habitat homes. And if Habitat CFC is the participating nonprofit with the most money raised by 9 a.m. on March 9, they will receive a $5,000 bonus prize.
