Or maybe your family's favorite are the sweet and chewy Samoas that never last long in your house.

Do you have a hankering for the Rah Rah Raisin oatmeal cookies rolled out last year?

If so, you're in luck as the annual Girl Scout cookie sale has begun in Fairfield County.

Buying Girl Scout Cookies not only fills your pantry with tasty treats generations have enjoyed, it supports the largest girl-led, entrepreneurial business in the world.

There’s something worth sharing inside each box of Girl Scout Cookies – whether it is the confidence a girl gains from asking people to support her or the business and financial literacy skills she learns through managing customers and money. By purchasing a single box of cookies, supporters are helping girls learn five skills — goal setting, money management, business ethics, people skills and decision making.

Last year, the Girl Scouts of Connecticut were among the five top councils in the nation for total boxes sold.

This year's effort, labeled Digital Cookie 2.0, will include an enhanced cookie Website with fun quizzes, games, videos and other activities that offer girls opportunities to learn budgeting and resource allocation using a “spend, save and give” model.

Girls also will become familiar with business and sales concepts, explore impactful and philanthropic ways to invest their cookie earnings, learn about Internet safety and more.

The following cookies are available: Thin Mints, Trefoils, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Rah-Rah Raisins, Savannah Smiles, Toffee-tastic (limited availability).

The proceeds from the Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s cookie program stay in Connecticut and directly benefit all of the Girl Scouts in Connecticut, including the Girl Scout troop or group from which the cookies were purchased.

In addition, the Cookies for Heroes program returns this year, allowing customers to purchase cookies for delivery to men and women in the armed forces.
