Hours after Keophannga's death, his sister set up a GoFundMe to help the family pay for the expenses. She described her brother as a hardworking employee at BIC who "was loved by all."
"His humor, generosity, and kindness is what made him a lovable young man. He was always that person friends would turn to when they needed help," she wrote.
"Not only was he my young and only brother, but he was my best friend as well. He may be my baby brother, but he always took on the role of the older, mature sibling and always took great care of me, the family and his small growing family as well," she said.
Keophannga left behind his parents, two sisters, and a girlfriend who had two children for whom he had taken on the role of step dad, according to the GoFundMe campaign.
As of 2:30 p.m. the campaign had raised $2,700 of its $20,000 goal.
