October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Bridgeport is raising awareness by hosting the walk at Seaside Park to encourage early detection. The walk takes place Sunday, starting with a 9 a.m. registration at the Casino Bath House.
The walk will help raise money to fund breast cancer research and prevention, including mammograms and other early detection. It will also celebrate survivors and honor loved ones lost to the disease.
A special breakfast reception will take place for breast cancer survivors.
Admission is free for all participants, and registration begins at 9 a.m. The walk officially begins at 10 a.m. rain or shine.
