Free Health Screenings Offered In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- February is Heart Month and Get Healthy CT, the regional wellness coalition of hospitals, health departments and other health and social service providers, urges Fairfield County residents to take a higher level of accountability in its monthly health feature, “Know Your Numbers for Heart and Diabetes,”

As part of its second annual Know Your Numbers campaign, Get Healthy CT, in cooperation with its member organizations, will offer the following free blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and body mass index screenings:

  • Stratford Town Hall Council Chambers, 2725 Main St., Monday, Feb. 8, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Stratford South End Community Center, 19 Bates St., Wednesday, Feb. 10, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. 
  • St. Vincent’s Parish Nurse Congregations, Sunday, Feb. 14, at each church
  • Bridgeport City Council Chambers, 45 Lyon Terrace, Tuesday, Feb. 16, starting 6 p.m. 

Get Healthy CT focuses on a different obesity prevention topic each month and provides resources in print and online. Printed information packets are also available in some area libraries, community centers, regional health departments, and other locations.
