Captain's Cove Seaport, Bridgeport
Why It's Waterfront Worthy: What was a vacant lot with a few boat slips in 1982 has grown to one of Connecticut’s top tourist destinations. Its outdoor deck -- said to be the largest in Connecticut -- is packed with families who come for fried fish, hot dogs and nautical souvenirs during the day, and with the party crowd, for live music and beer, on the weekends. It also has entertainment six days a week, not to mention killer views of Black Rock Harbor.
