Gourmet Tasting Event Benefits Bridgeport's Habitat For Humanity

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Habit for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County will hold a gourmet tasting Thursday to benefit Women Build.

The 7th Annual Gourmet Tasting to Benefit Women Build will offer culinary offerings from A Dash of Salt (Weston/Norwalk), Avellino’s (Fairfield), Garden Catering (Greenwich), New Level Academy (Bridgeport), Tazza Osteria (Fairfield) and La Paella (Norwalk).

Celebrity chef Silvia Baldini of Food Network's "Chopped" will provide a cooking demonstration. 

All proceeds will benefit the Women Build 12, a home to be built in 2016 in honor of longtime Habitat volunteer and 9/11 activist Beverly Eckert. 

Habitat for Humanity's Women Build is a program dedicated to providing fundraising and construction skills to women interested in building homes for the community. 

The fundraiser takes place from 6-9 p.m. in sponsor Aitoro Appliances' Norwalk showroom at 401 Westport Ave.
