Bridgeport's Beardsley Park Hosts Fishing Rodeo As Season Opens

“I attended the first fishing rodeo with my kids,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “It is such a fun family event, enjoying nature in beautiful Beardsley Park and sharing a common love of fishing. There is so much to do outside in Bridgeport, from visiting the sandy beaches at Pleasure Beach and Seaside Park to casting lines at Bunnells Pond and picnicking in Beardsley Park.”

The fishing rodeo is free and open to kids ages 5 to 13. Bait and tackle are required. Registration starts at 7 a.m. in the Hanson Exploration Building. The fishing competition begins at 8 a.m.

Awards and trophies will be handed out at noon in the Hanson Exploration Building.
