Sapienza’s bringing her culinary reputation for traditional Italian dishes, with a Tuscan flare, to a 45-seat, full bar, corner location in the heart of Bridgeport’s downtown neighborhood.
Large communal tables and smaller seating indoors provide a welcoming atmosphere while outdoor seating offers a view of concerts and happenings in McLevy Green.
“Downtown is a growing neighborhood that is home to great restaurants, thriving businesses that are creating hundreds of jobs and hundreds of housing options,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “Job creators, investors and small business owners are seeing the progress in downtown and are choosing to open their businesses here. Congratulations to Toni Sapienza on her move to downtown.”
Toni’s Tuscan Table is one of many new businesses that have recently opened in downtown Bridgeport. Last month, the city celebrated the grand opening of Funchal Cafe on the Green. And Sweet Treats, a new bakery, also just opened downtown.
In 2014, Sapienza was the Grand Prize Winner of the Food Networks’ successful “Kitchen Casino” three level competition, receiving $10,000.
For four years, Toni’s Tuscan Table provided the setting for large celebratory gatherings, family nights out and romantic interludes at its first home in Bridgeport’s Black Rock neighborhood.
In addition to cooking and running her restaurant, Sapienza also provides catering for small to large events.
Toni’s Tuscan Table serves dinner Wednesdays through Saturdays, lunch on Fridays and brunch on Sundays. The menu changes often and discussing ingredients or preferences with a guest is part of what Sapienza loves. Dinner entrees range in price from $16 to $24, lunch starts at $9, and brunch at $10.
