18-Year-Old Found Shot Dead Inside Apartment In Bridgeport

Police in Fairfield County are investigating following the shooting death of an 18-year-old man found inside an apartment.

The incident took place in Bridgeport around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 7 in the 300 block of Olive Street.

Bridgeport Police responded to the area on a report of a person shot, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police.

Officers found the teen on the floor inside a first-floor apartment of a multi-family home.

Medics quickly attempted lifesaving measures but the teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Gilleran said the victim lived at the apartment.

The Bridgeport Detective Bureau Homicide Squad has taken charge of the investigation.

The next of kin has been notified.
