Swimmer, 23, Still Missing After Search Off Seaside Heights
A 23-year-old swimmer remained missing Saturday, June 6, more than a day after disappearing in the water off the Jersey Shore.
The U.S. Coast Guard received a report at approximately 1:57 p.m. Friday, June 5, of a person in the water about 100 yards offshore of Seaside Heights, a spokesperson for the agency said.
A 47-foot Motor Lifeboat from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light and a helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City were dispatched to the scene, according to the Coast Guard. Local emergency responders also deployed marine, aerial, and shoreline search resources.
