The publication used several factors, including median income, home values, and owner-occupied housing rates, to quantify wealth, according to its announcement on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Zip Code 12211, centered on the hamlet of Loudonville in Colonie, was the wealthiest area in the region, according to the Albany Business Review. The next wealthiest zip code was 12309, largely including the town of Niskayuna in Schenectady County.
Rounding out the top five were 12065 (Clifton Park), 12054 (Delmar), and 12159 (Slingerlands), the ABR reported.
The wealthiest zip codes in the Capital Region were generally concentrated around Albany, its northern suburbs, Schenectady, and Saratoga Springs, according to the ABR’s analysis.
