Trooper First Class Marwing Pena Charged With Computer Crime

A Connecticut state trooper is facing a felony charge after turning himself in to police.

Trooper First Class Marwing Pena, 36, of Glastonbury,  surrendered to Troop I on Wednesday, May 13, authorities said. He was charged with computer crime in the third degree, a Class D felony.

State police have not said what Pena is specifically accused of doing. 

Under Connecticut law, computer crime charges can involve unauthorized access to a computer system, theft of computer services, interruption of computer services, misuse of computer system information, or destruction of computer equipment.

Pena was released on a $10,000 bond, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 27.

Pena, who is stationed in Hartford, has been a Connecticut State Trooper since 2018.
