Steven Jarezz Adams, 32, of Silver Spring, has been arrested and charged after investigators say he repeatedly stalked homes, exposed himself through windows and sliding glass doors, and even pulled a knife on a homeowner during a series of disturbing incidents across Montgomery County, police announced.

Detectives say the cases began early Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, when a woman inside her home in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane in Gaithersburg was confronted with a man exposing himself through her sliding glass door at approximately 3:46 a.m., according to police.

Adams allegedly returned to the same neighborhood less than two weeks later.

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, at about 6:40 p.m., a woman inside another McCullough Lane residence noticed a shadow outside her window. When she opened the blinds, police say Adams was standing there before walking away.

Later that same night, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a neighbor reported seeing Adams shining a flashlight through the sliding glass door of a home in the 17700 block of Silkcotton Way in Gaithersburg, police said.

The encounters took a more dangerous turn on Thursday, Jan. 15.

At around 7:05 p.m., a man inside his McCullough Lane home received a motion alert from his security camera and went outside to investigate. Police say the homeowner confronted Adams, who then pulled out a knife and swung it toward him before fleeing.

Through their investigation, detectives identified Adams as the suspect and learned he had previously been arrested for Peeping Tom incidents in 2022.

Police tracked him down days later — with help from the sky.

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, at approximately 7:30 p.m., detectives spotted Adams behind a multi-level apartment complex in the 8000 block of Gramercy Boulevard in Derwood.

With assistance from an MCPD drone, officers monitored Adams from above as he allegedly looked into ground-level apartment windows and doors — and exposed himself again.

When officers from the 1st, 5th, and 6th District Special Assignment Teams moved in, Adams ran. After a short foot chase, he was taken into custody.

Adams has been charged with indecent exposure, peeping tom, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and trespassing posted property. He is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

Detectives say they believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward and are urging anyone who believes they were targeted to contact the 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770.
