The woman's boyfriend, Ronald Champlin, 53, of Bridgeport, was arrested after officers arrived at a home on Palomino Pass in Trumbull on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 22, and found a woman seriously injured.
Champlin had threatened and physically abused the woman for about two days, police said. She had serious injuries to her face, body and limbs.
Trumbull EMS took her to Bridgeport Hospital. Champlin went to Saint Vincent’s Hospital for a cut on his hand.
Authorities charged Champlin with criminal attempt at murder and other domestic violence offenses. He was held on a $2 million bond, Trumbull police said.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are interviewing family members and witnesses and collecting evidence from the home.
