Paulo Silva, 50, fled during a traffic stop conducted by Bethlehem police after officers learned he had an active warrant for fleeing and eluding, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers later located Silva driving on Route 22 East near Route 378 in Bethlehem on Sunday, July 5, at approximately 2:45 p.m. When they attempted to stop him, Silva allegedly refused to yield to emergency lights and sirens, prompting a pursuit, state police said.

The chase ended when troopers performed a PIT maneuver on Route 22, bringing Silva's vehicle to a stop. He was taken into custody without further incident, according to police.

Silva was transported to Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released, police said. Criminal charges were filed, and he was transported to Lehigh County Prison.
