"This place has been so much more than just a restaurant to us," the restaurant, located at 84 Broad St., wrote on Facebook. "It’s been filled with laughter, celebrations, familiar faces, and countless memories we will always cherish. You have been at the center of it all, and we are truly grateful for every visit, every kind word, and every moment we’ve shared."
The restaurant did not give a reason for the closure, but said their other location, McDonagh's Pub in Keyport, would remain open.
"Where the same spirit, care and community will always be waiting for you," the restaurant wrote.
Patrons were stunned by the news.
"I'm absolutely crushed," one customer wrote. "My (now) husband and I went on our first date there! It will always remain part of 'our story.'"
"One of my favorites….especially during the summer months….sorry to see you go," another customer wrote.
