The wallaby got out of his enclosure at Lots of Love Farm in Williamstown last night, the farm said in a post on Facebook.
"He is friendly but on the run," the farm said.
Monroe Police Capt. Kevin Bielski told NJ Advance Media that Rex was spotted outside a Walmart near the sanctuary, after nearly being hit by a car.
He was last spotted in the woods near the store, Bielski told NJ Advance Media. Bielski said officers are keeping an eye out for Rex.
