Jonathan D. Rivera, 32, of Galway, was arrested Sunday, Aug. 23 for applying pressure to another person’s neck with the intent of causing them to lose consciousness, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said.
Rivera was detained at a home on Jockey Street in Galway around 7 p.m. Sunday and charged with second-degree strangulation, authorities said. He was arraigned in Galway Town Court and held in Saratoga County jail without bail, according to the sheriff’s office.
Rivera’s name, age, and hometown match a man who was arrested in November 2025 and accused of violating an order of protection at a home on Jockey Street in Galway. The suspect was charged with felony criminal contempt because he had a previous conviction on the same charge in the past five years, authorities said.
