Elisa Feinman, 68, of Fairfield, allegedly abused an intellectually disabled client at the Westport Weston Family YMCA on Saturday, July 19, at the YMCA on Allen Raymond Lane, according to the Westport police.
Officers responded after YMCA staff reported seeing a caregiver physically mistreating her intellectually disabled client.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video as part of the case and arrested Feinman, who police identified as a paraprofessional, Westport police said.
Feinman turned herself in at Westport Police Headquarters on Tuesday evening, July 21, police said.
She was charged with third-degree abuse of persons and third-degree assault of an intellectually disabled person. Police said Feinman posted a $50,000 bond and was released.
