Edison Jovanny Morocho Gonzalez, 24, of Patchogue, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic southbound on Route 112 near Silver Street in Patchogue when he struck the pedestrian at approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, according to Suffolk County Police.
The 43-year-old Patchogue resident was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
Fifth Squad detectives arrested Morocho Gonzalez and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was also arrested on multiple warrants, according to police.
Morocho Gonzalez was being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday, Aug. 17, police said.
