Devika Ramcharran, 37, of North Bellport, was arrested Thursday night, Nov. 5 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Ramcharran was employed as a home health aide with Senior Helpers of Smithtown, and she worked with an 89-year-old woman living on Oakdale Avenue in Selden, authorities said.
Around Monday, Sept. 28, Ramcharran took the woman’s jewelry, valued at $1,200, according to police. The woman called the cops when she noticed it was missing.
Following her arrest Thursday after 11 p.m., Ramcharran was released on an appearance ticket for First District Court in Central Islip later in November, police said.
