Chase Franklin Jones, 26, was arrested in connection with the robbery of an Xtra Fuels Gas Station at 1071 Main St. in Willimantic just hours after the incident, police said.

Officers were called to the business just after 3:30 a.m. Friday, July 31. The robber had run away before they arrived. But Willimantic investigators linked Jones to the incident and arrested him just two hours later on Riverside Drive.

He is charged with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny, Willimantic police said. Jones was being held on a $100,000 bond.

“The Willimantic Police Department takes these offenses seriously and is committed to ensuring they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the news release read.
