Matt Rahmani, the husband of Allison “Ally” Rahmani, shared their messages with People magazine and the New York Post. He had sent his wife a photo of a prayer shawl bag she’d made for him by hand.
“I’m walking into davening being like🔥,” Matt Rahmani wrote Friday, Aug. 21, using the Yiddish word for prayer, according to the Post. “I’m feeling so good.”
Allison Rahmani replied “LOL.”
“That was literally the last interaction I had with my wife,” Matt Rahmani told People. “It was this little banter, which was so emblematic of our relationship.”
Allison Rahmani, 40, of Hewlett Bay Park, suffered a medical episode after entering her car in the family’s driveway, which then caused her to drive forward and into an inground pool in the backyard, according to investigators.
She was able to call for help but was pronounced dead at a local hospital, Jerusalem News Syndicate previously reported.
Rahmani worked at Hebrew Academy of Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) for many years, and the couple has four children. A foundation Matt Rahmani set up in his wife’s name has raised nearly $300,000 in two months.
