A former Columbia University vice president has been convicted of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 years old at his Bergen County home, authorities announced. A 24-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash in West Orange on Tuesday, Oct. 29, authorities said. A man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Route 3 Thursday morning, Oct. 31, police said. Police said that the 34-year-old man was a passenger in a vehicle that had just been involved in a single-vehicle crash when he got out and proceeded to walk along the highway around 10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of East Rutherford. A driver and a passenger fled the scene of a crash with another vehicle on the NJ Turnpike in Bergen County Monday evening, Oct. 28, police said. The Toyota RAV4 and Audi Q3 collided in the northbound lanes at milepost 118.7 in Ridgefield Park around 6:55 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver and passenger of the Toyota fled the scene on foot and were picked up by an unknown vehicle before troopers arrived. No injuries were reported.
