The Daily Voice, originally Main Street Connect, began in 2010 as a collection of local news sites. Since then, we have grown into a news network, employing award-winning editors and local reporters in towns across three states. We live and work in the communities we serve, and appreciate you turning to us to find the latest local news about your town.
Carll Tucker began Main Street Connect (now, The Daily Voice) in 2010. Prior to The Daily Voice, Carll was Editor and Publisher of Trader Publications, Inc., a community news company based in Cross River, NY. He founded the company in 1981 and sold it to Gannett in 1999. Prior to that, he was Editor and Publisher of Saturday Review magazine and a staff writer and theater critic for The Village Voice in New York City. He served as Chairman of Northern Westchester Hospital Center and Founding Chairman of Northern Westchester Hospital Center Foundation, and on the boards of the Caramoor Center for Music, Milbank Memorial Fund, and Bank of New York, among others. He is the author of “The Bear Went Over the Mountain” (2008).
Karin is an Emmy award-winning executive producer with extensive experience in local and business TV news. She was EP of Thomson Reuters’ Insider multimedia platform for business professionals, Deputy Managing Editor and EP at Bloomberg TV and Director of Special Programming and Planning at CNBC. She earned both an MBA and BA in Broadcast Journalism from New York University.
Elwood Davis is President and Founder of Northeast Financial Consultants, Inc. The firm is a multi-family office with over $1 billion in discretionary managed assets. Mr. Davis has a BS in Economics and a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of St. John’s Law School and is licensed to practice law in New York and Florida. He is on the Board of Long Wharf Theatre, Private Client Resources, and The Daily Voice.
John Falcone was Senior Vice President, Mobile Network at SmartReply. He led the team that turned SmartReply into the largest SMS mobile advertising network in the U.S., with more than 1,150 local and national media partners including radio, print, and local and cable television, reaching more than 200 million consumers per week. He also developed and managed the company’s strategic partnerships with media leaders such as Citadel Media/ABC Radio Network, Comcast SportsNet, Westwood One, Saga Communications and GateHouse Media. He’s a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Michael E. Gellert is a General Partner of Windcrest Partners, a New York-based investment partnership which he co-founded in 1968. Mr. Gellert is also a director emeritus of Seacor Holdings and of Dalet Technologies. He has served as a director of several private companies, including Devon Energy, Humana Inc., Six Flags and Regal Cinemas. In addition, Mr. Gellert is involved in various non-profit organizations such as the Carnegie Institution of Washington, New School University, Human Rights Watch, the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, the New York City Opera and the Greenwich, Connecticut Library.
Peter A. Georgescu is Chairman Emeritus of Young & Rubicam Inc. Mr. Georgescu serves as a board member of several publicly-registered companies, including International Flavors & Fragrances and Geeknet. Previously, he has served on the Boards of Levi's, Toys "R" Us, EMI Recorded Music and Briggs & Stratton. He is currently Vice Chairman of New York Presbyterian Hospital, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Jim McTaggart is a founding member of Marakon, a strategy and organization consulting firm. Mr. McTaggart helped pioneer the field of value-based management at Marakon, and has published extensively on the subject of corporate and business strategy. Prior to co-founding Marakon, Mr. McTaggart was a Vice President in the Corporate Finance Group at Wells Fargo in San Francisco. He serves on the boards of Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich Health Services and Blyth Inc., a New York Stock Exchange company in the home expressions business.
Jane Bryant Quinn is the nation’s leading commentator on personal finance, with books and columns read and trusted by millions. She has been a columnist for Newsweek and Good Housekeeping magazines, a syndicated newspaper columnist for The Washington Post, a columnist for Bloomberg.com, the financial correspondent for CBS Morning News and CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, and the host of two PBS series. Her book, “Making the Most of Your Money,” was named by Consumers Union as the best personal finance book on the market. A new edition was published in 2010. Her columns appear at www.moneywatch.com. She currently serves as a director for Bloomberg LLP.
Prior to co-founding Veronis Ventures, Nick Veronis spent 11 years at Veronis Suhler Stevenson where he was responsible for originating and structuring investment opportunities and monitoring portfolio companies. He specializes in the business information services sector, digital media and local media & marketing services. Nick played a key role in the acquisition and subsequent development of the firm’s investment in Ipreo, a leading platform for market intelligence, deal execution and investor communication. Nick has advised on numerous buy-side and sell-side transactions, including the sales of Clipper Magazine, The Official Information Company, and CompuNet Credit Services. Prior to joining VSS, Nick was a member of the New Media Division of Newhouse Newspapers. He first gained media experience as a reporter for The Boston Business Journal and then for The Star-Ledger in New Jersey. Nick holds a BA degree in economics from Trinity College.

The Daily Voice, an online media startup, is looking for upbeat, energetic inside sales reps to join our Armonk, NY based call center. This is a lead gen job, setting appointments for local account execs. No hard selling is involved.
