Tractor Trailer Fire Delays Traffic Along NJ Turnpike
A tractor trailer fire caused congestion along the NJ Turnpike Sunday evening, April 14. According to the DOT website, the incident happened on the southbound side of the outer roadway, north of Interchange 12 to Carteret-Rahway. New I-695 Inner Loop Closure Point To Take Effect Monday: Maryland Transportation Authority
With the entire East Coast continuing to adjust to the collapse of the Key Bridge collapse in Maryland, the state's Transportation Authority announced new closures and alternatives for motorists on I-695. Beginning on Monday, April 15, there will be a new closure point in effect on the Inner Loop. According to officials, the closure will be at MD 151/North Point Boulevard (exit 42) which will be the last exit for drivers. Outer Loop closure remains intact at MD 173 (exit 1) (see above). Busy Main Route Reopens After Tree Falls In Westchester
This story has been updated. A part of a busy main route in Westchester has reopened to traffic after being briefly closed thanks to a downed tree. Hillside Avenue (Route 100) in Greenburgh at the intersection with Valimar Boulevard reopened at around 4 p.m. after being closed for less than two hours after a tree fell on the roadway, Greenburgh Police said on Friday, April 12. The department said the road was reopened so fast thanks to "outstanding work" from the Town of Greenburgh Department of Public Works.

Transportation officials announced a new set of closures on the Northern State Parkway on Long Island that will last for weeks. Beginning on Monday, April 15, and lasting for around seven weeks, the eastbound Northern State Parkway will be closed between the Meadowbrook State Parkway and the Wantagh State Parkway in Westbury, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. Coroner Names Driver Killed In Lehigh County Crash
Eighty-four-year-old Helen R. Werley died after her car struck another vehicle in Lynn Township on Thursday, April 11, according to the Lehigh County Coroner. Officials said Werley, of Weisenberg Township, died from multiple blunt-force injuries. The manner of death was accidental. The crash happened near the intersection of Schochary Road and Kistler Valley Road around 3:45 p.m. and Werley was pronounced dead at the scene, the Coroner's Office added.
