Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming days. Between Wednesday, April 24, and Friday, April 26, overnight lane closures will impact both directions of the Long Island Expressway in Islip at different times. On Wednesday, April 24, the westbound lanes will shut down between Exit 57 and Exit 56 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, April 25. A multi-vehicle crash on MD-295 caused traffic to be backed up for miles in Anne Arundel County on Tuesday ahead of the afternoon commute. Alerts were issued at approximately 2:15 p.m. on April 23 advising that there was a crash tying up traffic along the roadway in the area of MD-175 (Annapolis Road). Hit-Run Suspect Wanted By West Reading Police
Authorities in West Reading are looking for a driver accused of a hit-and-run. Police said the pictured car left the scene of a crash near South 3rd Avenue and Franklin Street around 7:30 p.m. on March 29. The silver SUV fled north on South 3rd Avenue and then east on Penn Avenue, according to investigators. A crash on I-95 caused five miles of backups Tuesday morning, April 23. The crash happened at mile marker 177.9 on the southbound side along the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Fairfax County just outside of Alexandria, according to the VDOT site.
