A fugitive from Maryland wanted in Virginia chose the wrong person to tailgate while allegedly driving under the influence and landed himself behind bars, according to the Stafford County Sherif's Office. Berwyn Heights resident Juan Segovia Chicas was arrested over the weekend by deputies following a drunk driver complaint that was called in on Friday night. A driver from Long Island who led police from several towns on a high-speed pursuit on and off Route 46 was seized after he ran out of gas, authorities said. A drunk driver from Franklin Lakes got out and ran for home after his SUV rear-ended another on a Route 208 exit ramp -- then returned to the scene as police were investigating, authorities said. Hot Coals Caused Fire That Scorched 7 Cars During NY Jets Game
Seven cars got burned nearly as bad as the New York Jets during Sunday's East Rutherford game against the Minnesota Vikings. Hot coals from grills scorched the vehicles during two separate incidents in the MetLife Stadium parking lot, Meadowlands Fire Chief Kevin Meehan said. In one incident, a driver parked over the coals in an area where people tailgating had dumped the coals, Meehan said. UPDATE: A rollover crash that ejected a passenger Friday morning on northbound Route 17 in Rochelle Park occurred when a tractor-trailer clipped the back of the sedan, surveillance video obtained by Daily Voice shows. Park Avenue Auto Group supplied the videos, first to police and then to Daily Voice. The 62-year-old tractor-trailer driver from Montgomery, N.Y. received three summonses -- for careless driving, tailgating and making an unsafe lane change, Rochelle Park Police Lt. Dean Pinto.
