Car Bursts Into Flames, Causes Temporary Road Closure In Somers Part of a busy route in Northern Westchester was briefly closed after a vehicle went up in flames. The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 30 around 4:45 p.m., when crews in Somers responded to Route 139 for a reported motor vehicle fire. According to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department, arriving crews quickly arrived at the scene of the blaze and doused the flames with water within seconds, quickly extinguishing it. Rollover Crash: Person Hospitalized, Main Road Closed In Somers A vehicle rollover in Northern Westchester left one person hospitalized and caused a main road to be briefly closed to traffic.  The crash happened on Saturday, May 27 around 3 p.m., when first responders in Somers were sent to Route 139 between Plumbrook Road and Van Rensselaer Road for a reported vehicle rollover, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Federal Agent Hits Woman On Jersey City's Route 139, Report Says A woman crossing State Highway in Jersey City was struck by a federal agent Friday morning, news reports say. The woman was walking along the upper level of Route 139 at Baldwin Avenue when she was struck on the eastbound side around 8:10 a.m., NJ Advance Media says. She apparently suffered a serious head injury. The driver was a federal agent but it was not clear if he was on-duty at the time of the crash.
