Monster Hurricane Gabrielle Now Packing 140 MPH Winds: From Cat 1 To Cat 4 In Hours Fueled by bath-warm waters and favorable winds, Hurricane Gabrielle has vaulted to Category 4 strength, unleashing sustained winds of about 140 mph and still poised to intensify.
