Hudson Valley Man Busted With Kilo Of Cocaine In Cornwall During Traffic Stop: Police
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after he was allegedly busted with a kilo of cocaine during a traffic stop. Ulster County resident Anthony Johnson, age 41, of Kingston, was stopped on Thursday, Oct. 10, on I-87 while driving a 2018 Audi Q7 in Orange County in Cornwall. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a probable cause search of the vehicle during the stop by troopers and K9 Moran yielded a kilo of cocaine and $7,739 in cash. Two separate double-fatal accidents left four people dead over the weekend in Somerset County. Two drivers escaped without major injury when their SUVs collided Monday in Ridgewood. The driver of a Cadillac Escalade had a clutch of party balloons with her when she was treated for a minor injury at the scene of the May 1 noontime crash with an Audi Q7 at South Van Dien and East Ridgewood avenues. A young teen was hospitalized on Saturday after the SUV he was driving slammed into a utility pole in Ridgewood. The Audi Q7 took out the pole in the April 8 noontime crash on West End Avenue near Orchard Street. The 17-year-old driver was taken to The Valley Hospital nearby with injuries that responders said weren't considered life-threatening.
