Worker, 19, Cutting Oil Tank Critically Burned In Garfield Flashback
A 19-year-old worker was critically burned on the lower half of his body after a flashback Tuesday afternoon while he was cutting an oil tank from the ground in Garfield, authorities said. “It appears that as he was cutting the tank with a saw,” Garfield Police Capt. Richard Uram said. “The sparks may have ignited the fuel, causing a flash.” “It does not appear they had a permit to remove the tank at this time,” Uram said. : Ridgewood Firefighters Rescue Construction Worker Who Fell 20 Feet Into Basement
Firefighters rescued a worker who fell 20 or so feet off a ladder Monday morning into the basement of a new home under construction in Ridgewood. Rescuers brought a Stokes basket and ropes along after the 10:30 a.m. mishap on North Monroe Street. After they got him out through a window well, the Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps rushed the 28-year-old worker to the trauma unit at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Employer Attacks Man Who Refused To Work On Unsafe Scaffold, Wilton Police Say
An employer is facing multiple charges after police say he assaulted and threatened a worker who refused to work in unsafe conditions. Wilton Police received a complaint of an assault that occurred Wednesday, Dec. 5. The victim alleged that he was working for his employer at a residence in Wilton.
