Hudson Valley Man Charged With Stealing Gas After Fleeing Cops, Crashing A man was charged with allegedly stealing gas and then fleeing from police and crashing his vehicle in the region. The incident took place in Ulster County around 8:40 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 in the town of Hurly. According to Sgt. Collin Reynolds of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, William Williams, age 65, of Highland, was arrested after deputies attempted to stop him and he sped away at a high rate of speed before crashing into a wooded area in the town of Rosendale. Morris County Corrections Sergeant Arrested On DWI Charge An off-duty Morris County Sheriff's Office corrections sergeant was charged with driving under the influence, court records show. William Williams, a 13-year- veteran with the department, was driving on Route 46 near Valley Road in Little Falls when he was arrested around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, NJ.com initially reported. He was served a reckless driving summons and a DUI. A first appearance was scheduled in May.
