A Pennsylvania U.S. Navy veteran was found dead in Cheat Lake, West Virginia, after his car plunged off Interstate 68, officials announced on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Kevin Lataille, 59, of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, had last been seen leaving work at an Eat'n Park in Morgantown, West Virginia, on Jan. 19, according to Missing People in America.

Chemical Release Hospitalizes 12 Chambersburg Workers, Feds Say
A hazardous chemical gas release at a Chambersburg-based soap and detergent manufacturing facility has resulted in $161,310 in federal penalties, according to a U.S. Department of Labor announcement on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025.
The investigation, led by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in its Philadelphia regional office, followed the July 2024 incident at AFCO, a manufacturing subsidiary of Zep Inc. based in Atlanta. The Chambersburg facility, which specializes in cleaning and sanitation products, experienced a nitrogen dioxide gas release during chemical processing. …

Some people attending SantaCon 2024 in Hoboken, including several from out of state, couldn't help but end up on the naughty list.
Hoboken police said eight people were arrested at the annual event on Saturday, Dec. 21, where people dress up as Santa Claus for a bar crawl, a spinoff of the popular event held every year in New York City (scroll down for details).
Overall, police issued 16 traffic summonses, dealt with 13 fights, and responded to three motor vehicle crashes, police said. Last year saw only two arrests.
