A 77-year-old woman was killed and her husband seriously injured when a large tree crashed down on their pickup truck in the Hudson Valley. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office determined the couple was traveling east on State Route 44/55 in the Town of Gardiner when the accident happened around 12:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Deputies arrived to find a Chevrolet Silverado in the middle of the roadway with heavy damage after a large tree fell directly onto the cab, trapping both occupants inside. Tree Falls, Kills Man In CT During Sudden Storm
A 53-year-old man was killed after a tree fell on him in Connecticut during a sudden thunderstorm. The incident happened in Windham County just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, when a man walking in the area of Union Street and Jackson Avenue in Willimantic was hit by a fallen tree during a storm, according to Willimantic Fire Chief Marc Scrivener. Tree Falls On Woman, 44, Walking Dog In Ridgewood
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Responders worked swiftly to free a woman who was seriously injured when a tree fell on her as she walked her dog Saturday morning in Ridgewood. The 44-year-old victim was taken to Hackensack University Center after begin trapped under the large tree at the intersection of Heights Road and Woodland Avenue. Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment and hand tools to free her. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs. Boyd A. Loving contributed to this article.
