Detour Ahead: Overnight Road Work Scheduled To Begin In Montgomery County
PennDOT crews will be repaving Pine Road in Lower Moreland Township beginning Friday, May 31, officials say. Work will be ongoing from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Friday through Monday, June 10. Pine Road will be closed and detoured between Philmont Avenue and Brae Bourn Road with drivers rerouted to Byberry Road and Philmont Avenue. 'Major Accident' Closes I-176 In Eastern PA
Berks County drivers were asked to avoid I-176 in Caernarvon Township following a "major accident" early Monday afternoon, Sept. 25, authorities said. Both the northbound and southbound lanes near Exit 2 were closed for several hours as first responders worked the scene. State police said that a tractor-trailer in the right southbound lane was "operating too fast for the rainy conditions" and was unable to slow down for a red light. Multiple Crashes Leave I-87 Traffic At Standstill In Orange
For those who have to brave the highways, Orange County Emergency Management officials are warning that I-87 is open, but due to multiple crashes, is at a standstill. The department reported around 4 p.m., Thursday that traffic is not moving between Exit 16 and Exit 17 (Harriman and Newburgh), and for motorists to use alternate roadways if possible. I-84 and Route 17 remain open and are passable, but conditions are treacherous, the department said.
