State Legislation Aimed At Saving Indian Point Jobs, Tax Revenue
In the closing weeks of the state legislative session, several bills that would protect local tax revenue and 1,100 jobs at Indian Point are moving through the state Capitol. When the Indian Point nuclear reactors close in three years, the village of Buchanan is expected to lose half its revenue. But that hasn’t caused an exodus, thanks to relatively affordable housing, The New York Times reported in this real estate article.
