A former fast-food joint is going from burgers to tacos. The Town of Huntington Planning Board has approved plans to convert a White Castle restaurant on Walt Whitman Road in Melville into a new Taco Bell location. Officials said the plan is to demolish the White Castle restaurant to rebuild a new Taco Bell with a drive-through window. Moving forward, developers will have to put out building permits for the project. According to Loopnet, the White Castle location was built in 1999. A high school senior and Taco Bell employee in Cumberland County won the national Taco Bell scholarship contest, according to the company’s foundation’s website. Emma Seibert, of Enola works at the Taco Bell on Market Place Way and earlier this week she find out that she won the biggest scholarship her employer offers. Her $25,000 scholarship will help cover her tuition at John Hopkins University where she plans to study nursing. Jersey City Taco Bell Customer Flashes Taser During Face Mask Dispute
A Jersey City Taco Bell customer threatened employees with a taser after she was refused service for not wearing a face mask, authorities said. The woman, whose identity was not made public, began “exhibiting aggressive behavior” and threatened to use a taser on the employees at Taco Bell on JFK Blvd. when she was refused service Monday around 11:30 p.m., Jersey City Police Spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The woman then left the restaurant, authorities said. No injuries were reported during the incident, which remains under investigation, Wallace-Scalcione said.

Connecticut may soon get its 12th Chick-fil-A. Plans have been submitted to the town of Manchester to open a restaurant at The Plaza at Buckland Hills on Pleasant Valley Road over by the Taco Bell. Authorities said they'd initially found “no sign of trauma or other indication of criminal involvement” on a body that apparently washed up Monday morning at the Jersey Shore.
