Neighbor Helps Maryland Resident Escape After Massive Tree Crushes Fort Washington Home A Maryland resident escaped without a scratch Tuesday morning after a massive tree came crashing through a two-story home in Fort Washington, thanks in part to a quick-thinking neighbor. The collapse happened around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, in the 12900 block of Heather Circle in Prince George's County, where firefighters arrived to find the tree split through the middle of the house. Worker Trapped After Porch Collapses In Western Mass A construction worker received non-life-threatening injuries after being trapped during a partial structural collapse. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 2, at 783 Belmont Ave., when structural supports for the porch roof failed, trapping one worker, said the Springfield Fire and Emergency Management.  The man was extricated by the Springfield Fire Department and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.
