Three Arrested At July Fourth DUI Checkpoint In Huntington: Cops Three drivers were arrested at a holiday weekend DWI checkpoint on Long Island, Suffolk County police said. The Huntington checkpoint was set up from 11 p.m. Friday, July 4, to 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 5, in the Long Island Rail Road parking lot at Route 110 and Church Street, according to a news release from the department. Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Highway Patrol Bureau SAFE-T Team and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office stopped 245 vehicles during the operation. Staff and volunteers from the STOP DWI Program also assisted and gave drivers educational materials.…

11 Charged In Area DWI Detail Authorities have just announced the results of a special multi-agency holiday DWI detail in Dutchess County. During a Labor Day “High Visibility Engagement Campaign” that was conducted countywide between Saturday, Aug. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 5, police in Dutchess County busted 11 arrested for alleged impaired driving through the region. “The goal of the Labor Day Impaired Driving Crackdown as all other crackdown periods was to discourage people from driving impaired, promote awareness, and keep the roadways safe,” officials said. Labor Day Impaired Driving Crackdown Period Leads To Arrests Of 60 Area Residents Dozens of drivers were arrested in Dutchess County during an impaired driving crackdown period over Labor Day Weekend. Between Saturday, Aug. 17 and Monday, Sept. 2, state, county and local police agencies throughout Dutchess County conducted details that included sobriety checkpoints and emphasis patrols countywide, as well as their regular patrols. In total, 60 arrests were made, including 59 for alleged impaired driving.
