LBI’s Ron Jon Surf Shop Founder Ron DiMenna Dies
Ron Jon Surf Shop founder Ron DiMenna, whose surfboard sales on Long Beach Island grew into a surf empire, died Saturday, Sept. 6, the company announced Sunday. He was 88 years old.
“The entire Ron Jon family mourns this loss,” said Michele Goodwin, president of Ron Jon Surf Shop. “On behalf of our Board of Directors, management team, and employees, we extend our deepest sympathy to Ron’s wife, Lynne DiMenna.”

Two New Jersey Powerball players won $100,000 in the Saturday, Sept. 9 drawing, state Lottery officials said.
The tickets matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball drawn and played the Power Play option.
