Kindergartener Injures Three Students With Pencil In Chester: School
Three students were injured with a pencil at the Chester Upland School of the Arts on Thursday, Feb. 22, school administrators say. "At approximately 9:15 a.m., a kindergarten student experienced a mental health crisis," said Chester Upland School District officials in a statement. "Unfortunately, the incident resulted in three students sustaining minor injuries from a pencil held by the student in crisis." To the tune of "Run Run Rudolph," Toms River police posted a body-worn camera video of a deer rummaging through a school classroom. They posted the video of the episode on Facebook. "Someone happened to be walking by" at 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 when the deer jumped through a classroom window at Cedar Grove Elementary School, said Jillian Messina, a Toms River police department spokeswoman. Bricks, Concrete Fall From Hawthorne HS Building
Chunks of a Hawthorne High School parapet gave way Tuesday afternoon, raining bricks and concrete that damaged vehicles parked below. There was no immediate answer for what might have caused the chunks to come loose along a 60-foot stretch of the back of the Science Building's façade facing the athletic field on Bamford Avenue on Sept. 12. A 41-year-old Long Island woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police said she threatened a juvenile while confronting him over an incident that involved one of her children. Police have launched an investigation into alleged racist graffiti that was found scrubbed on a poster in a high school bathroom in Westchester.
