One firefighter and one civilian were injured on Tuesday afternoon when a fire broke out at the Academies of Loudoun magnet school. Loudoun County Fire and Rescue crews were called to a reported fire at the school that was quickly knocked down after all students were safely evacuated from the building before firefighters arrived, officials said. Early arrival students were escorted from the Alexander Hamilton School in Glen Rock on Wednesday after a small fire ignited in a hallway light fixture. Everything went smoothly as the youngsters were temporarily brought from the K-5 school on Harristown Road to the nearby Academy of Our Lady shortly after 8:30 a.m. Oct. 18. No injuries were reported in a pre-dawn classroom fire Tuesday at the Haskell Elementary School. No children were in the building when the blaze broke out in a classroom at the Ringwood Avenue school shortly before 7 a.m. and was quickly extinguished, responders said.
